Marek and his brother Tarek worked the Zhakarov Brotherhood’s doors as a pair – matching crimson headbands, snake tattoos, and a tag-team unarmed fighting style vicious enough that Section 18 had a bounty on the two of them together before the Agents ever laid eyes on either. Marek was the bigger of the two, shaven-headed, strangely charismatic under the intimidation. Tarek was thinner, scarred, quieter.

They went down together at the Broken Mug, manacled to each other in the aftermath – and it was there, chained to his dying brother rather than in the fight itself, that Marek actually broke. Tarek was bleeding out from a wound the Agents chose not to treat. Marek begged them to heal him, coughing through blood-spattered teeth, asking whether they were even going to try – and then watched him die in the street beside him, still cuffed to the body afterward.

Captain Brin took the two deaths personally enough to dress down the Agents responsible in the same debrief – “Agents are NOT executioners” – on the grounds that neither Grimm brother had ever actually killed anyone themselves, for all the damage they’d done. Whether that reprimand reached Marek in any form is unrecorded. What is on file is that he cooperated afterward, without much resistance: he set up the takedown of a Chuza Cutter drug dealer in exchange for a lighter sentence, trading his own crew’s rivals for a shorter stretch inside.

STATUS: Filed under The Bad, though the file has a harder time with this one than most – a career enforcer who lost his brother in Section 18 custody, and gave up a rival gang’s operation rather than let the loss go to waste. Currently cooperating. Currently, is doing a lot of work in that sentence.
