STATUS Fled Arn Griishank – sworn to remember the Agents, whereabouts unknown
RANK Overseer, Dranathess field research
OCCUPATION Weaponised-biology programs – troll, lycan, pudding, Slagma, and mind control, run in parallel
ACCESS LEVEL Full operational authority, Arn Griishank site; answers to a handler known only as Voord
AGE Unrecorded – reads as middle-aged
ORIGINS Unconfirmed; Dranathess/NIL territory presumed, consistent with his posting and the project’s funding
YEARS OF SERVICE Unrecorded – standard Dranathess overseer tours run 2 years; unclear how many Kaleb has served
FIRST ON RECORD Session 50 – seated at Lord Valden’s table

Kaleb sat at Lord Valden’s table every dinner – the household’s Dranathess mage in title, its actual authority in practice, polite and precise and entirely unbothered by anything happening in the donjon below while he made small talk about local archaeology.

Officially he was overseeing environmental training for the King’s soldiers.

What he was actually running, out of a repurposed cellar beneath the keep, was a small factory of separate, parallel horrors, each one further from anything an officer back in Chuza would recognise as training.

There wasn’t just one project.

Alongside Karver’s lycanthrope-soldier program, Kaleb was separately trying to breed regenerative “hardiness” into soldiers using something closer to a troll’s biology, containing a corrosive ooze creature in an obsidian flask as a live siege weapon, experimenting with a raw, unstable natural deposit of Slagma turned up by accident in a collapsed mine shaft, and running a mind-control operation using the same parasitic worms that surfaced, much earlier and much further from here, in an outbreak at Kenbro.

FILE NOTES

The Agents found him mid-procedure: a manacled soldier facing the wall, a patch of grafted fur stitched raw across his back, Kaleb standing over him with a scalpel and no particular urgency.

“Do you require some persuasion?”
wasn’t a threat so much as a genuine question – and the cut that followed, when the subject failed to change on command, was delivered with the same flat patience as everything else he said that day.

Deville’s release turned the whole confrontation on him at once.

Kaleb burned his first round on protection from evil rather than a spell that might have stopped her, tried reasoning with her once the binding broke (“We had an agreement, Deville”), and was still negotiating when Karver arrived and a summoned Vrock started clawing its way up through the lab floor.

He didn’t stay to find out how the fight went.

He swept an Orb of Storms and a jar of Kenbro worms into a sack – both, on later inspection, tools for triggering the same mind-control operation running at Kenbro – and left with Karver, promising the Agents by name that he wouldn’t forget them.

That promise is the last confirmed word from him.

Most of his surviving Troopers scattered from Arn Griishank not long after; Kaleb himself was never accounted for.

“I’ll not forget this, Agents Ash, Krusha, and Raven…”

Overseer Kaleb, fleeing Arn Griishank

STATUS: Filed under The Bad, without qualification. Personally responsible for the zombies worked in Arn Griishank’s fields, the failed troll-soldier program, the lycanthrope grafting, and very possibly the Kenbro infection besides. Considered armed, resourced, and still owed a grudge against three named Agents.
