STATUS Tol Kerrate Knight (one of three known survivors) SECTION Independent – consults through Asquith FIRST ON RECORD Session 38 – named by Asquith as one of his missing Order
DikDik Bonabi is, by Asquith’s own account, one of only three Tol Kerrate Knights left in the world – and considerably harder to get a straight answer out of than his colleague.
He went chasing an archaeological and astrological lead to the ruined druidic observatory at Borthanza, deep in the region Asquith calls, without much reassurance, Green Hell, and stopped sending word not long after.
It took the Agents the better part of the Borthanza expedition – grimlocks, an alien vessel buried under the ruins, and a guardian beast that nearly finished them – before they found him at all, and even then only because he let himself be found.
FILE NOTES
He turned up disguised among the elvish tribe holding the plateau, apparently by choice rather than necessity, and affecting the kind of theatrical, sing-song patter that makes it hard to tell where the performance ends and the person begins.
Once satisfied the Agents were who they said they were, he teleported the party back toward Chuza himself, with a promise to meet properly at Asquith’s museum.
He has had, by his own admission, many names over his centuries – the one he answered to on the plateau, before the reveal, was Hector Andreas Vasilev: a self-described New Yorker with a heavy accent, put-upon patter, and a running complaint about the quality of hired help, who’d had a rat familiar gnawing through rope for him until he chose to stand up and change back to his true shape in front of the elves, who reacted to the reveal with exactly the disbelief you’d expect.
Rather than teleport the Agents straight out of Borthanza, he took a detour first – to a very particular building overlooking the Bay of Chuza, where the receptionist recognised him on sight.
“Mr Bonabi! What a pleasant surprise,”
she greeted him, unprompted, the moment he walked in.
He didn’t deny it.
It was there, not from DikDik himself, that the Agents heard the question asked about someone else entirely – whether “Akatha C’Dartris,” the true name Asquith would only confirm to the Agents in person some sessions later, was still alive.
DikDik’s own answer was characteristically oblique, drifting into what reads on the page like quoted lyric rather than a straight reply –
“when Akatha come a calling,” “you can’t see the eyes of the demon, until him come callin’”
before he moved the conversation elsewhere entirely.
Filed as evidence of Asquith’s identity, not DikDik’s own; whatever else Hector Andreas Vasilev is, he isn’t Akatha C’Dartris.
“When Akatha come a calling.”

STATUS: Filed under The Good, on Asquith’s word and his own evident willingness to help once found. Eccentric well past the point of easy explanation – filed with a note to expect more of the same.
