Boosay

Boosay
STATUS Unclear – carries authority nobody at Section 18 will explain
SECTION Reports past Brin, directly to the Commissioner and Lord Morden
FIRST ON RECORD Session 12 – the warehouse square riot

Boosay turns up when something has already gone wrong, usually from a direction nobody was watching. He answers to a chain of command that runs straight over Brin’s head, which is reason enough that even the Captain gives him room rather than a fight.

The first thing most Agents learn about him is that he doesn’t hesitate. At the warehouse square, with a woman standing in a doorway, hands raised, surrendering – Boosay drew his cannon and shot her dead without a word, then told the soldiers nearby to clean up the mess and walked off into the shadows.

FILE NOTES

He has a habit of self-harming with a knife when a situation runs long – a private ritual, cutting himself for what he calls clarity, thanking the blade afterward like it did him a favour. The bandaged forearms are a permanent fixture. Nobody has asked him about it twice.

His interest in the Griffiths case turned openly transactional: two corpses from the morgue, handed over quietly, in exchange for a location – on the condition that he got to keep Griffiths for himself afterward, for a public arrest, trial, and execution. Brin refused outright. Boosay didn’t seem surprised, or especially bothered.

At the Regent Theatre, with the building on fire and a dozen identical Griffiths surrounding the Agents courtesy of the jongleurs’ illusion, Boosay didn’t bother asking which one was real. He worked it out the fast way.

“Where is the elusive Dr fuckin’ Griffiths! Hmm, so, many Drs in the house. Which one is the real one. Right, process of elimination. You! Yes or no?… Boom. Not you. Point him out then, you idiot – shoot the next one.”

He worked his way down the line of doubles one shot at a time until the real Griffiths gave himself up rather than watch the rest die for him – and, for reasons nobody has explained since, let Krusha walk out alive once the building was clearly coming down around them.

STATUS: Filed under The Unknown. Not a criminal, not quite an ally – authorised by someone well above Section 18’s own chain of command, for reasons that have never once been shared with the Agents who have to work alongside him. Filed as-is, and watched carefully.
