Officer Rhabbatt runs the Section 18 armoury the way some men run a shrine – every weapon signed in and out, every Coraman crystal charge logged, nothing leaving his stores without his own hands checking it over first. He is, by some margin, the shortest officer at the House, barely five feet standing, and has clearly made his peace with people underestimating him for it a long time ago.

What he lacks in height he makes up for in reach – he is the one Agents actually deal with for anything beyond standard issue: silvered blades ahead of a Griffiths raid, walkie-talkies pulled for field trials, a mithral shirt and a second silvered shortsword commissioned during a rare few days’ leave. If it’s new, experimental, or not yet cleared for general issue, it still comes through Rhabbatt first.

FILE NOTES

The armoury doesn’t run risk-free, and Rhabbatt wears the proof of it – the last two fingers of his left hand, lost testing something before it was ready, though he tells the story differently depending on how much he’s had to drink. He still does the testing himself rather than hand it off, which either says something admirable about him or something worrying about Section 18’s procurement standards, depending who’s asked.
